British artist Ed Chapman has been making mosaics for more than 25 years and has sold all over the globe. He has established himself as one of the world’s leading mosaic artists; the first to create a number of works in media never previously explored.

His mosaics have a number of high-profile collectors including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Annie Lennox, TV stars, Darts legend Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, England footballers, foreign royalty and Lemmy from Motorhead to name just a few. Significant commissions for Fender Music, the Sony Corporation, Hard Rock Cafe, UNICEF, The Gordon Ramsey Foundation, Manchester City FC, Cadbury’s, Cancer Research, Starbucks and many more.

Ed found that the mosaic medium, although a painstaking technique, came to him naturally. Whether it be ceramic, stone, coins, hand-cut vinyl, metal or plectrums Ed enjoys the challenge of the process, the need to be patient and precise and this is clearly evident in the accuracy of each finished work.

Ed says, 'I was drawn to the mosaic medium as I like the challenge of making an accurate likeness of a subject from such random fragments of the material I am using. I like the fragmented aspect of mosaics and how up close can they appear as one thing, then from a certain distance the whole image is revealed. All of my works are unique, no two can be the same.'
