Leigh Lambert

Leigh Lambert

Leigh Lambert's street scenes inspired by childhood games and adventures in the industrial north are collected by many people across the country...

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1979, Leigh lived in the North East until 1996 when his family relocated to the beautiful town of Warwick. Leigh began to draw and paint from a very early age, in fact as soon as he could hold a pencil or paintbrush. As he progressed through his school years his attention to detail became very apparent and this is subsequently one of the characteristics that makes his work so distinctive.

You could say that Leigh is a self-taught artist as he left school with no formal art qualification though has always had a clear talent for drawing and painting. With his early childhood in Newcastle being his inspiration along with his dad and granddad's childhood stories, Leigh creates northern, nostalgic scenes which are widely collected throughout the UK.

Combining humour, a distinct pop of colour against strong contrasts of light and shadow, Leigh has become a renowned artist over the last 10 to 15 years. Capturing the spirit of childhood against an industrial backdrop, his art appeals to many people who grew up in those familiar neighbourhood's  which are found across the country.

Leigh's work ignites a sense of heartwarming community, a reason for his art being so admired by many.
