Mark A Pearce

Mark was brought up in Cumbria and showed artistic talent from an early age. Studying at Wyndham School, Egremont, he excelled in all aspects of art. After A levels he studied at Carlisle College of Art & Design for a year before moving to Norwich School of Art where he specialised in graphic design.

On the strength of his portfolio he found work in London with the well known Michael Peters and Partners. It was here in 1988 that Mark won the BBC design award for his memorable Royal Mail Greeting Stamps, featuring smiles from the likes of Dennis the Menace, the Mona Lisa and the laughing policeman. This also won him the prestigious D & AD Silver Award (Design & Art Directors Club of Great Britain).

Mark then branched out on his own, and with a business partner he set up the company Springpoint which rapidly expanded to become one of the most highly regarded brand identity consultancies in the sector. Successfully running this London based business, Mark was the creative director for some of the most iconic branding of the 90s, including accounts such as Martell, Vodafone, Unilever, BBC, Birds Eye and The Hong Kong Government.

After a colourful lifestyle with the London set Mark decided to return to the beautiful Lake District, rekindling his desire to use his creative talents to produce original paintings and prints. His home studio has panoramic views over the Ravenglass estuary and Lakeland fells which provide much of the inspiration for his artwork. He is still developing his style and techniques and works in several different media. Mark is currently producing vibrant oils, watercolours, pastels, and limited edition reduction wood and linocuts.
