With a strong affinity to nature from a childhood growing up on the Cornish coast, Sarah Jackson is an artist inspired by the natural world. Focusing on her love of animals, Sarah creates striking portraits using the process of collage.

A technique which Sarah has mastered beautifully, it is easy at first to mistake these pieces of art for paintings. As the viewer looks more closely, they discover a clever approach to representing form, colour and texture. This form of art was influenced by Sarah’s eco-conscious ethos as she explored options for an environmentally friendly approach to materials; the result being the use of recycled magazines.

After graduating in 2011 with a degree in illustration and working as a freelance illustrator, Sarah opened a studio gallery in North Devon in 2016 to focus on her art projects. Now working as a full-time artist, Sarah has been a finalist in the prestigious David Shepherd Wildlife Artist award and in March 2023 won the Ronald Morgan Memorial Award at The Royal Society of British Artists exhibition.
