James was working on a nostalgic, illustrative style painting in the gallery when a young couple came in, fell in love with the painting and asked if it was possible for them to buy it once it was finished.
At that point James had sketched out the couple dancing but had not yet created their faces. He suggested that they themselves should be the dancing couple and consequently painted them into the composition. The painting also features Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Cagney and famous Jazz musicians.
The couple were Martin and Hanna Kinsella who appear on the TV show, “The Real Housewives of Cheshire”, subsequently it was unveiled on an episode of the show!
