Josie Appleby

Josie Appleby creates fresh, contemporary paintings depicting the fluidity and motion of the animals she paints.

Inspired by British wildlife, Josie is drawn in particular to Equestrian subject matter which reflects the Equine Sports Therapy degree she undertook. Her passion and understanding of horses shines through her work as she explores the nuances of texture and movement of each animal. Her style appears semi-abstracted, building layers of bold, expressive brushstrokes, adding areas of tonal depth and truly capturing the sense of an animal in motion.

We have a range of the artist's limited edition prints on canvas at the gallery which are taken from her original oil paintings, block mounted onto board and framed in a contemporary double moulding frame.
