Sally Barker

Sally creates almost abstracted paintings of the landscape that depict the mood and transience of the scene, applying various mark-making techniques to convey a myriad of textures and forms...

Growing up surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside, Sally had a passion for capturing in paint all that inspired her – be that a beautiful landscape, colour or even an emotion. This creativity was limited to doodles however during lengthy meetings in her many years in business.

Forty years later Sally decided to re-immerse herself in her first love, and with paint brush in hand, embarked on a second career in art. Sally is now the fully-fledged artist that she dreamed of in her youth and loves that her new job feeds her soul. When she paints, Sally tries to capture a sense of experience and place in her work, using colour, texture and mark-making to convey a sense of drama, movement and the myriad of textures she finds in the landscape.

Sally works mainly in oils and acrylics and hopes that wherever her art is hung, it gives as much pleasure to those viewing it as she had in creating it.
